Baba Lao Vs Soapy

For his new hit song called ' Baba Lao, ' Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz again hit the headlines.
Diamond released the song on Wednesday night and has already joined trending songs on YouTube Kenya, right now at number 19 (12:50pm on November 7, 2019). Although his official video is yet to be released, the song raises questions on social media, with some fans questioning the song's originality.
Baba lao' is a borrowed concept from Nigerian singer, Naira Marley from one of his hit songs, Soapy, which was first posted on YouTube on August 9, 2019.

Beginning from the beats to the song's rhythm, it's obvious that Diamond's song is essentially the ideas of Marley and has only been able to use different lyrics, Swahili lyrics, to make it special.
The main producer of ' Baba lao ' S2kizzy admitted that he had to talk to the producer of ' Soapy ' before he wanted to use the idea.
"No, we got the idea from Naira Marley's Soapy album, we talked to them and told them that we liked their music, so we did it, and their producer is my brother. (No, idea ya baba lao tulikuwa inspired na wimbo wa Naira Marley inaitwa Soapy, tuliongea nao tukasema tunapenda tipo ya kitu amabayo wamefanya so tukaifanya na producer wao ni mwanangu)," S2kizzy said after being asked if he started the song.
