Vickon is the rising star of the Afrobeats who let his spirit lead

Vickon was born in 1997 in Nigeria, Imo State. Born into a devout Christian family, Vickon grew up singing and rapping while in secondary school. He attained his primary and secondary school education in Imo State.
Vickon signed a record deal with Sharp beats, a subsidiary of Celeb Buzz Ent in 2019. He released his eponymous debut EP Lagos to the world in 2019. It peaked at top playlists on big streams.
Victor Nwakanma (born January 5th 1997, known professionally as Vickon, is a Nigerian singer and rapper.

In 2019, he signed a record deal with Sharp Beats World, a subsidiary of Celeb Buzz Entertainment. He rose to prominence with the release of the song "Oh Baby", which appeared to be viral and among top playlists in Mdundo and Boombplay.
With Afrobeats finally receiving the international success it deserves, Nigerian artists such as Vickon are making a name for themselves. At the tender age of 22 years old.
I was immediately taken back when I heard' Oh Baby' by how distinctive the sound was. While Vickon draws most of his musical inspiration from Afrobeats, to make his music stand out, he does not limit his style, draw inspiration from Bollywood, trap and hip-hop.

I talked to Vickon about his beginnings, his hardships, his faith and what we might expect of him in the future.
Vickon joins the artistic domain of Nigeria in a unique position as he appeals to the scenes of mainstream, hip-hop and alté. He's an odd ball— a multi-faceted artist who goes anywhere and everywhere. He succeeded in entertaining the masses in one fell swoop, winning respect from his generation's music-savvy children, and positioning himself to break internationally. There's a fondness outside of Phlemzy's similarities.
